PLEASE NOTE: As of this week, I’ve begun to deviate from the information found in Llewellyn’s Yearly Magical Almanac (which I once relied on heavily). As I’ve learned more about color and herb magic, I’ve found that I don’t always agree with the almanac’s selections for color and incense of the day.

Instead, I’ll be choosing color, incense, and crystal of the day based on the current day’s ruling planet and influences – in a way that appeals more to me personally. Sometimes these choices will be the same as those found in the almanac, and sometimes not.

Here are your witchy correspondences for Monday, January 13, 2025:

Color of the Day: White

Moon of the Day: Full Moon in Cancer

Monday is ruled by the Moon. Magical influences include peace, healing, sleep, compassion, friends, psychic awareness, purification, and fertility.

If you’re performing divination, it’s a good day to ask questions relating to health.

Color of the Day: White

White is associated with the Moon, ruler of the day, and the Goddess. Magical properties of the color white include peace, protection, purification, chastity, happiness, and spirituality.

White is a positive color that eliminates negativity, and encourages acceptance and forgiveness. It represents freedom and unlimited opportunities.

Crystal of the Day: Moonstone

Moonstone, an opalescent feldspar in colors of blue, white, or pink, is a receptive stone ruled by the Moon and associated with the element of water. Magical properties of moonstone include love, divination, psychism, sleep, and protection.

Moonstone is intimately connected with the moon in magical lore, hence the name. Use moonstone to honor the goddess and for divination (especially during full moon rituals). Wear a moonstone to draw love into your life, place it under your pillow for a restful sleep, and carry it while traveling as a protective charm.

Incense of the Day: Sandalwood

Sandalwood is a feminine herb ruled by the Moon and associated with the element of water. Magical properties of sandalwood include protection, wishes, healing, exorcism, and spirituality.

Sandalwood incense is commonly burned at full moon rituals (often mixed with frankincense), and during protection, healing, and exorcism spells. The fragrant wood produces very high spiritual vibrations. Powdered sandalwood can be used as an incense base or scattered around to clear an area of negativity.

Number of the Day: Five

The numerological day is determined by adding up the total of the current day, month, and year – then reducing this number down to a single digit.

January 13, 2025 is a “five” day.

Five days are days of change and variety. It’s a good time to try something new or different, to do something you’ve been looking forward to for a while.

Moon of the Day: Full Moon in Cancer

The full moon is the time of greatest power. Today, the moon is full at 5:27 PM EST, though the full moon energy will be strong all day and into the next few days. The January full moon is also known as the “Wolf Moon.”

In general, Moon in Cancer stimulates emotional rapport between people. Pinpoints need, supports growth and nurturance. Tends to domestic concerns.

This month’s full Moon in Cancer is advantageous for for emotional or relationship issues to come out into the open. Emotions may also run high due to the opposition of retrograding Mars and Pluto, so take care when dealing with loved ones.
