PLEASE NOTE: As of this week, I’ve begun to deviate from the information found in Llewellyn’s Yearly Magical Almanac (which I once relied on heavily). As I’ve learned more about color and herb magic, I’ve found that I don’t always agree with the almanac’s selections for color and incense of the day.

Instead, I’ll be choosing color, incense, and crystal of the day based on the current day’s ruling planet and influences – in a way that appeals more to me personally. Sometimes these choices will be the same as those found in the almanac, and sometimes not.

Here are your witchy correspondences for Sunday, January 12, 2025:

Color of the Day: Gold
Crystal of the Day: Citrine
Incense of the Day: Frankincense

Moon of the Day: Waxing Cancer

Sunday is ruled by the Sun. Magical influences include healing, spirituality, success, strength, and protection. It’s a good day to rest, heal, and focus on your personal goals.

If you’re performing divination, it’s a good day to ask questions relating to finance, business, and monetary success.

Color of the Day: Gold

Gold is associated with the Sun, ruler of the day, and the God. Magical properties of the color gold include justice, success, abundance, and power tempered by wisdom.

Gold is considered a masculine color due to its association with the Sun. It’s a color of positivity, self-motivation, and generosity.

Crystal of the Day: Citrine

Citrine, a form of quartz, is a projective stone ruled by the Sun and associated with the element of Fire. Magical properties of citrine include protection (especially from nightmares) and psychism.

Wear citrine at night to remove fear, prevent nightmares, and ensure a good night’s sleep. You can also wear this stone to improve psychic awareness.

Incense of the Day: Frankincense

Frankincense is a masculine herb ruled by the Sun and associated with the element of fire. Magical properties of frankincense include protection, exorcism, and spirituality.

When burned, frankincense releases powerful vibrations that uplift those in the area and drive out negativity. It’s used in incenses of purification, protection, exorcism, and consecration. It’s also burned to aid meditation, and can be added to sachets for luck, protection, and spiritual growth.
