Wednesday is ruled by Mercury. Magical influences include the conscious mind, study, travel, divination, wisdom, and success. If you’re performing divination, Wednesday is a good day to ask questions relating to business matters and travel.

Mercury enters Capricorn today until January 28th. It’s a good time for disciplined study, serious thought, and learning from experienced teachers.

Color of the Day: Topaz

Color magic uses various hues to influence energy. Topaz is often associated with male sexuality, memory, and fast effects.

The color topaz is a blend of yellow and orange, with a golden glow that brings to mind the warmth of a sunset. It’s a soft but masculine color.

Crystal of the Day: Topaz

I choose the crystal of the day based on the day’s energy, ruling planet, and associated color. And since today’s color is Topaz, I couldn’t resist! Magical properties of topaz include protection, healing, weight loss, money, and love.

Topaz is known as the “lover of gold.” It’s often used to attract wealth and money. A simple money spell involves combining an equal amount of topaz and tiger’s eye, empowering and placing the stones around a green candle, burning the candle and visualizing.

Incense of the Day: Honeysuckle

Magical properties of honeysuckle include money, psychic power, and protection.

I grew up in rural Arkansas, where honeysuckle vines grew everywhere. My little sister and I spent summer days sucking the sweet nectar from the flowers and making floral crowns to wear on our heads. Little did we know, we were heightening our psychic powers!

It’s believed the fresh flowers rubbed on your forehead enhance psychic abilities. In addition, you can also use honeysuckle to attract wealth. Another simple money spell involves ringing a green candle with fresh or dried honeysuckle flowers, burning the candle and visualizing.

Moon of the Day: Waxing Taurus

The waxing moon (the time from the new moon til the full moon) is an ideal time for magic to draw things towards you.

When the moon is in Taurus, things begun now last the longest, tend to increase in value, and become hard to alter. Brings out appreciation for beauty and sensory experience.

Magic of the Day: Divination & Wealth

The energy of the day promotes divination, study, wealth, and success. Here are some ways I’m connecting with the energy of the day:

Wearing orange/yellow clothing and golden jewelry (It’s a good day to wear topaz if you have any, especially if it’s set in gold!)
Lighting orange-yellow candles on my alter for meditation and spell work (when applicable)
Burning honeysuckle incense during my morning meditation while focusing on success in financial matters, and while performing spell work to attract money

Performing the simple money spell outlined in the Crystal of the Day section above
Studying, journaling, and practicing herbalism – especially new skills I’m currently trying to master
Reading tarot and performing other divination techniques I feel drawn to while focusing on matters of money, business, and travel

Due to Mercury’s influence and the planet’s move into Capricorn, there’s no better day to focus on studying, practicing skills, and acquiring knowledge. It’s also a great day for divination and any type of spell work to attract money/wealth.
