Sunday is ruled by the Sun. Magical influences include healing, spirituality, success, strength, and protection.

Many people view Sunday as a day of rest, and today’s energy definitely supports that. Take some time for yourself today. Focus on healing, spiritual pursuits, and self-care.

Color of the Day: Yellow

Color magic uses various hues to influence energy. Yellow is often associated with the element air, joy, charm, divination, psychic powers, mental powers, wisdom, and visions.

Yellow is a warm, bright, and cheerful color. It is also considered an intellectual color that provides hope and helps people find a sense of direction in their lives.

Crystal of the Day: Citrine

I choose the crystal of the day based on the day’s energy, ruling planet, and associated color. Today is perfect to work with citrine, a projective stone ruled by the sun.

Magical properties of citrine include anti-nightmare, protection, and psychism. Wear citrine to bed at night to prevent nightmares, remove fear, and ensure a good night’s sleep. Because it’s a form of quartz, citrine can also be worn to facilitate psychic awareness.

Incense of the Day: Hyacinth

Magical properties of hyacinth include love, protection, and happiness. It promotes a restful sleep, heals a broken heart, and transforms negative thoughts into positive ones.

When grown in the bedroom, hyacinth protects the occupants from nightmares. Smelling fresh hyacinth flowers is said to relieve grief and depression – especially from a broken heart. And the dried flowers are often used in love mixtures.

Moon of the Day: Waxing Pisces to Aries

The day begins with the moon in Pisces, but it moves into Aries at 2:01 PM EST.

The waxing moon (the time from the new moon til the full moon) is an ideal time for magic to draw things towards you.

When the moon is in Pisces, the focus is on dreaming, nostalgia, intuition, and psychic impressions. It’s a good time for spirituality or philanthropic activities.

Moon in Aries is good for starting things, but lacks staying power. Things occur rapidly, but quickly pass. People tend to be argumentative and assertive.

Magic of the Day: Healing, Happiness & Rest

Today’s energy promotes healing, spirituality, happiness, and rest. Here are some ways I’m connecting to the energy of the day:

Wearing yellow clothing and citrine jewelry throughout the day
Wearing citrine to bed to prevent nightmares and ensure a good night’s sleep

Burning hyacinth incense throughout the day and during my morning meditation, while focusing on happiness and guarding my thoughts from negativity
Burning hyacinth incense in my bedroom at night before bed to promote restful sleep
Lighting yellow candles on my altar for meditation and spell-work

Spending time outdoors and connecting with the sun (if it doesn’t rain!)

Today is a good day to perform healing magic, spend time studying spiritual interests, and make time for yourself. Magic to prevent nightmares and attract positive energy into your life is also appropriate.

I’m spending my Sunday resting and reading, doing little magical work besides the usual meditations and things listed above. It’s a great start to a new week!
