Hi, I’m Cindy! This is a blog about my day-to-day life as a homemaker, and my journey to a happier, more natural existence. I’m an aspiring herbalist and green witch. I love making my own natural cosmetics, cleaning products, herbal remedies, spells and charms.
On this site, I write posts about:
- Natural beauty and homemade herbal cosmetics
- Natural cleaning and low-waste living
- Herbalism for healing/nourishing body and mind
- Green witchcraft and harmony with nature
- My weight loss on the carnivore diet (monthly check-ins right now)
I’m very passionate about homemaking, herbalism, green witchery, and living in harmony with nature to the best of my ability. That doesn’t mean I’m perfect. I’m far from it! But I do hope I can inspire you to reconnect with nature and reduce your footprint on the earth too.
My goal here is to share the things I learn on my path and show you that a simpler, more fulfilling life is attainable for everyone. I strive to maintain a harmonious environment in which people can feel empowered to improve themselves in a positive way, and where we can interact with ease and love.
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my posts! If you do, don’t forget to check out my YouTube channel, where I make videos/vlogs on the same topics.
I live in Southern Colorado with my husband Andrew, our two dogs, and Gibbons (the cat). We’re originally from Arkansas, and we miss our home very much. We hope to move back to the beautiful Ouachita Mountains some day in the future.
I’m 39 years old and trying to get pregnant while fighting infertility due to polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). We sadly lost our first child, a baby boy we named August Sky, at 20 weeks in July 2022.
But we haven’t given up hope.
I’m healing my body with the carnivore diet and using herbs to nourish my reproductive system (and my husband’s). We’re hoping for good news soon!
My mother was an amateur herbalist and she instilled in me a love of nature and plants. She gave me my first herbal medicine book when I was 16 years old. She taught me so much. But I lost touch with these connections for many years and lived the life of someone I don’t even recognize.
From time to time, I would feel the pull at my heart and soul, but I was too depressed and broken to follow it.
Over the past year, I’ve begun to find my true self again.
I think that’s in part due to how much I’ve healed both mentally and physically after breaking my addiction to sugar, and the shock of the trauma I experienced losing my child.
It’s like I was born again as a new person, given a new chance at life. Once you experience something so terrible, all the petty fears and insecurities that were holding you back seem insignificant.
Something in me was awoken when I rose from the ashes.
In January 2023, I decided to finally start following my dreams. I’m currently enrolled in Rosemary Gladstar’s The Science and Art of Herbalism course, where I’m learning to practice herbal medicine effectively. I’m also practicing green witchcraft and returning to my spirituality.
I’m once again finding the joy and peace that I’d been missing in my life for so long.
In my free time, Andrew and I love to see live music. My favorite bands are King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and The Midnight. I also enjoy reading fantasy novels. Robbin Hobb is my favorite author, followed closely by Mark Lawrence. I love to grow houseplants, and in the spring, I’m planning my first herb garden.
